| The consumer market is driven
by innovation, timing and price. Innovation has
always been our top priority. Blue sky, thinking
outside the box - call it what you want but it all means
creating something that hasn't been done before.
We're consistently creating products that are ahead of
their time. Our first foray into tracked
controllers for the home market was the Trimersion.
At the time, tracked controllers for console videogames
were unheard of. Interestingly
enough the Wii system was the first major leap by a
console manufacturer with a tracked controller. We
had predated their release by over three years.
Plus we have over 11 years designing motion tracked game
controllers. Is the market ripe for these kind of
devices? You bet it is... Ask yourself, what
makes a company risk a multi-billion dollar market
investment in the traditional game pad controller for
something innovative and untested? The timing is
right!
The most difficult hurdle to new
technology is price. If you want to spend enough
money on a product, you can probably buy it or at least
have it made, but to hit the price point of the average
consumer is a different story. Making the choice
of the right components is important. You want to
get the most bang for the buck and the best performance
for the product you are creating. We have
experience taking technology that at one time was
prohibitively expensive and putting it within reach of
everyone. |
